Palantir Download and Installation FAQ: Fix All Errors in 5 Minutes

Spending half an hour installing a piece of software only to get hit with an incomprehensible error message—nobody enjoys that. Downloading and installing Palantir (Little Globe) isn't actually complicated, but Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS each have their own quirks. This article lists the most common pitfalls so you can troubleshoot step by step—you should be able to fix things within 5 minutes.

Stuck at the download stage? Check these two issues first

Many people get stuck right at step one: the official website loads slowly, or the download cuts out halfway through. This usually isn't a Little Globe problem—it's your current network environment struggling to reach overseas servers.

The fix is simple: try downloading at a different time, or use your phone's hotspot. If you're already using another proxy tool, turn it off before downloading—sometimes that actually makes it faster.

Another common issue is the downloaded file getting deleted by antivirus software. Windows Defender, 360, and Huorong can all trigger false positives. You'll need to add the installer to your antivirus whitelist, or temporarily disable real-time protection before downloading.

Note: always download from official channels. Installers packaged by third-party sites often come with injected extras—after installing you'll get all kinds of pop-ups. Don't ask me how I know.

Installation errors fall into these categories—treat the root cause

Windows: Certificate errors or missing runtime libraries

The most common Windows errors are "cannot verify publisher" or "VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing." For the former, right-click the installer → Properties → Digital Signatures, confirm the signature is valid, then proceed with installation. For the latter, download the Visual C++ Redistributable package from Microsoft's official website, install it, and restart.

There's also the case where the installation progress bar freezes at a certain percentage. This is most likely a permissions issue. Right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator"—that solves it 80% of the time.

macOS: Won't open, shows "from an unidentified developer"

This is macOS's security mechanism, not a problem with Little Globe. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, and you'll see a blocked item at the bottom—click "Open Anyway."

If that option isn't even there, open Terminal and type sudo spctl --master-disable, press Enter, enter your password, then allow apps from any source in Privacy settings.

Android: Package parsing error or installation blocked

The typical Android error is "There was a problem parsing the package." There's only one cause: the downloaded APK file is incomplete. Delete it and re-download, making sure your network doesn't drop during the download.

Also, Android 13 and above blocks installation from unknown sources by default. Go to Settings and search for "Install unknown apps," then grant permission to your browser or file manager.

iOS: Requires an overseas Apple ID

iOS users take note: Little Globe is not available on the China App Store. You'll need an overseas Apple ID (US or Hong Kong region both work), log in, and search for it to download. If you don't have one, registering isn't hard—there are plenty of tutorials online.

If you don't want to switch IDs, you can also use the TestFlight version, but spots are limited, so keep an eye on official announcements.

Installed but can't connect? Check these three steps

Installation succeeded but can't connect to the server—this is another high-frequency issue. Troubleshoot in order:

  1. Check if your subscription has expired: Log into the official website to check your account status. If expired, just renew.
  2. Switch nodes: The default node may be temporarily congested—manually switch to one with lower latency. Little Globe has over 200 nodes worldwide, covering more than 30 countries and regions. Switching usually fixes it.
  3. Check your local firewall: Some security software blocks Little Globe's network requests. Temporarily disable your firewall to test—if it connects, add Little Globe to your firewall whitelist.

One more easily overlooked point: incorrect system time. VPN protocols have high requirements for time synchronization. If your device's time is off by a few minutes from the actual time, the handshake will fail. Set your system time to auto-sync and the problem disappears.

Still can't figure it out? Try this universal process

If you've tried everything above and still get errors, don't panic. Go through this sequence once and 90% of problems will be solved:

  • Uninstall the current version, restart your device
  • Re-download the latest installer from the official website
  • Disable all antivirus software and firewalls
  • Install with administrator privileges
  • Restart once after installation completes
  • Open Little Globe, log in, select "Smart Connect"

This process looks simple, but it resolves most mysterious issues caused by leftover files from old versions, permission conflicts, and network caches.

Little Globe is designed to be as close to plug-and-play as possible. Official data shows that over 85% of users successfully connect within 3 minutes of first installation. If you're running into problems, it's most likely one of the small details mentioned above tripping you up—not that the software itself is difficult to deal with.

If you haven't tried it yet, head to the official website to download the latest version. If you run into any issues after installing, the official documentation and customer support are both pretty responsive. Struggling on your own is a waste of time—just ask.
